Job Title: Senior Associate, Fund Accounting - Private Equity & Hedge Funds
Locations: New York, NY (hybrid), Union, NJ (hybrid)
About the Role
Support the delivery of high-quality fund accounting services across both private equity and hedge fund clients. In this role, you'll prepare and review fund accounting deliverables, process investment and investor activity, and support financial reporting. You'll work closely with clients, auditors, and internal teams while gaining broad exposure to multiple alternative investment strategies.

How You Will Make an Impact
  • Deliver accurate and timely fund accounting work within established client deadlines
  • Prepare and review work papers, general ledgers, and supporting schedules
  • Process private equity capital calls, distributions, management fees, and investment activity
  • Update distribution waterfall and carried interest calculations
  • Process hedge fund subscriptions, redemptions, income, expenses, and investment activity
  • Prepare and review NAV calculations and investor allocations
  • Perform cash, position, and bank reconciliations and prepare journal entries
  • Review transaction documentation and understand the accounting impact of investment activity
  • Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules
  • Support year-end audits in collaboration with clients, auditors, and internal teams
  • Interact directly with clients and counterparties, including auditors, legal counsel, tax advisors, and investment managers
  • Assist with new fund launches, client onboarding, and other accounting projects

Required Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA and/or MBA is a plus
  • 2+ years of accounting experience
  • Experience with alternative investment funds, including Private Equity, Hedge Funds, Private Markets, or other alternative investment strategies
  • Knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and investment accounting concepts
  • Experience preparing general ledgers, work papers, reconciliations, and financial statements
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines independently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with clients and all levels of the organization
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including strong Excel skills

New Jersey: The expected base salary for the position is between 65,000 USD to 115,000 USD. New York: The expected base salary for the position is between 65,000 USD to 115,000 USD.
In addition, employees in this role may be eligible for consideration on an annual basis for a discretionary bonus and/or equity awards, such as restricted stock units or stock options, based upon individual and business performance at the company's discretion.
