Job Description:

The person hired for the position of ELASTOMER GRINDING OPERATOR

will work at our 3M Hebron, KY plant site.

As an ELASTOMER GRINDING OPERATOR, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world.

  • Collaborate effectively with production team members to achieve safety, quality, and productivity objectives.
  • Support manufacturing operations by executing processes and initiatives that drive product quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop technical knowledge and operational expertise to support training and mentoring opportunities as experience is gained.
  • Participate in troubleshooting and problem-solving activities to support production and engineering objectives.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute ideas through continuous improvement and employee suggestion programs.
  • Follow established work instructions, standard operating procedures, and safety requirements while maintaining product quality standards.

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications.

Required:

Applicants must be 18 years of age or older to be considered for this 3M Production role, in compliance with U.S. labor and safety laws.

  • High School Diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start)

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a manufacturing, production, or industrial environment
  • Training or experience applying Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Experience participating in Kaizen events or continuous improvement initiatives
  • Previous Powered Industrial Vehicle (PIV) and/or forklift operating experience
  • Experience operating grinding, extrusion, or similar manufacturing equipment
  • Experience following standard operating procedures, work instructions, and safety requirements in a manufacturing environment
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
