About The Opportunity

We are experiencing explosive growth and looking to add hard working, motivated and skilled individuals to our highly dedicated teams within our large and growing geographic footprint. As a Junior Mechanic, you will assist with the repair and maintenance of drill equipment, hoe-rams, tractor-trailers, and light duty vehicles. This position performs routine maintenance, basic repairs, inspections, and service work in garage environments and at jobsites, as needed, while developing technical skills under the guidance of more experienced mechanics. This position reports to the Equipment Services Manager.

That means that you will be expected to:

  • Assist with repairing and replacing worn, damaged, or broken equipment components under the direction of experienced mechanics or supervisors.
  • Perform preventive maintenance (PM), inspections, lubrication, and routine service work on equipment, vehicles, and related systems.
  • Support troubleshooting of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, diesel, and basic electrical issues while developing diagnostic skills.
  • Coordinate with the Equipment Services Manager and mechanics regarding needed parts, tools, supplies, and repair priorities.
  • Use and operate hand tools, power tools, shop equipment, and basic diagnostic equipment in a safe and effective manner.
  • Complete required maintenance documents, inspection checklists, and repair records accurately and timely.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe shop, yard, and work areas and proactively identify and report safety concerns.
  • Follow all Company safety policies, procedures, and operational expectations at all times.
  • Provide field and shop support for service work, equipment preparation, and general maintenance activities as assigned.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • This position does not have formal people-management responsibilities and is expected to work cooperatively with mechanics, supervisors, and other team members.

  • Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn equipment maintenance and repair practices in a hands-on environment.
  • Ability to follow direction, work in a team environment, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision as experience and proficiency develop.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to ask questions, share updates, and respond to changing work priorities.
  • Strong commitment to a Safety First attitude and compliance with Company policies and procedures.
  • Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, lifting equipment, and other shop or field support equipment.
  • Dependable work habits, attention to detail, and willingness to support both routine and urgent maintenance needs.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, reaching, pushing, pulling, stooping, and bending in shop, yard, and field environments.
  • Must be able to lift 50 to 100 pounds at times and work on uneven and loose surfaces in varying weather environments.
  • Standard work week of Monday through Friday with shift times dependent on site assignments and locations.
  • Work may vary between indoor garage environments and outdoor jobsites and may include exposure to cold, heat, noise, dust, grease, and other conditions common to maintenance and repair work.
  • Periodic travel to worksite locations as required by necessary services and repairs.
  • Occasional travel throughout our operating region including overnight and multi day trips.
  • Must have basic hand tools appropriate for the role.
  • Ability to maintain a valid driver's license and Company Approved driver status, as well as a DOT med card.

About You

This is an entry level mechanic position, and as such you are most likely a high school graduate (or equivalent) with at least one year of experience in mechanical, maintenance, fleet, diesel, construction equipment, agricultural equipment, or related hands-on work preferred. Technical school training, vocational coursework, ASE-related training, or comparable mechanical instruction preferred, including experience with mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and diesel systems. You are a self-starter and have the ability to work with limited supervision, but also thrive working with a team. You may also be recently separated from Military service and looking for an opportunity that will value your self-discipline and standards for safety and excellence.
