Job description

We're seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator who's ready to put your skills to work on projects that matter - and build a career with a company that's building North America.

ABOUT THE ROLE
Operates dozers, loaders, excavators, haul trucks or other types of large equipment used for paving or moving, grading and compacting earth, sand, gravel, stone and/or asphalt materials. Conducts routine daily inspections of equipment and maintains equipment in a clean and safe manner.
WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
  • Operate various heavy equipment in order to loads trucks, feeds bins with various aggregate materials, maintain proper quantities of material to be loaded.
  • Maintain equipment: Keeps equipment clean and orderly.
  • Safety: Performs daily inspections on equipment to ensure safe operation.
  • Ensures that safety, compliance, environmental requirements are followed at all times.
  • Load material into bins, into crusher, into trucks or into plant. Moves earth or other materials from one location to another.
  • Performs visual and safety inspection of equipment.
  • May maintain appearance of equipment, proper air pressure in tires, proper fluid levels or perform minor repairs as needed
  • Completes are paperwork that may be necessary; assists with other duties required

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • Minimum of one year of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Flexibility to work extended shifts and varying schedules as needed
  • Ability to read and write.
  • Excellent driving skills
  • Strong safety-orientation
  • Licenses Preferred: Valid driver's license required
  • Required Computer and Software Skills: Basic proficiency computer and systems skills

  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors. Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
