Job Type: Full-time

Pay: [$30/Hour - $55/Hour DOE] โ€” competitive, based on experience

About AdvanceTrac Equipment

AdvanceTrac Equipment is a growing heavy equipment rental company based in San Marcos, serving contractors across Texas. We operate a modern fleet of excavators, dozers, motor graders, soil stabilizers, articulated dump trucks, and other heavy construction equipment.

Our reputation depends on equipment showing up ready to work, and our technicians are a critical part of making that happen.

We're looking for an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic / Technician who takes pride in their work, knows how to troubleshoot and repair heavy iron, and wants to be part of a growing company where their contribution matters.

What You'll Do

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain heavy construction equipment
  • Work on excavators, articulated dump trucks, motor graders, dozers, soil stabilizers, and related equipment
  • Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, fuel, emissions, and powertrain systems
  • Complete preventive maintenance and scheduled services
  • Perform inspections on incoming and outgoing rental equipment
  • Respond to field service calls on customer job sites as needed
  • Accurately document repairs, inspections, and equipment condition
  • Communicate equipment status and repair needs with the service and operations teams
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
  • Help ensure every machine leaving our yard is ready to go to work

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years of experience repairing heavy construction, earthmoving, or agricultural equipment
  • Strong working knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, emissions, fuel, and powertrain systems
  • Ability to diagnose problems rather than simply replace parts
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, service manuals, and diagnostic information
  • Experience with Hitachi, John Deere, Caterpillar, Volvo, Komatsu, or similar equipment is a plus
  • Own basic set of hand and power tools; AdvanceTrac provides specialty tools and diagnostic equipment
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working independently
  • Dependable and able to work in a fast-paced equipment rental environment
  • High standards for safety, quality, and workmanship
  • Valid Texas driver's license

What We Offer

We believe a strong benefits package should take care of more than just the employee. AdvanceTrac has made a significant investment in providing comprehensive benefits for our team and their families.

  • 100% company-paid medical insurance on our first medical plan option. That means no employee premium contribution for medical coverage under this plan, including family coverage.
  • 100% company-paid basic life insurance
  • Dental insurance available at the employee's expense
  • Vision insurance available at the employee's expense
  • Competitive pay based on experience
  • Paid time off
  • Stable, full-time employment with a growing local company
  • Well-equipped, late-model service truck with crane, air compressor, and welder
  • Company-provided diagnostic tools and software
  • Specialty tools and equipment provided
  • Opportunity to work on a wide variety of late-model heavy equipment
  • A growing company where good technicians are valued and have an opportunity to grow with us
  • A team that believes in doing things right, taking care of the equipment, and taking care of each other

If you're an experienced heavy equipment technician looking for a place where you can build something long-term, we'd like to talk with you.

AdvanceTrac Equipment is growing, and we're investing in both our fleet and our people.

Please note: All successful candidates will be required to pass a drug screen, pre-employment physical, have a clear motor vehicle record, and background check.
