Job description

McKesson is an impact-driven, Fortune 10 company that touches virtually every aspect of healthcare. We are known for delivering insights, products, and services that make quality care more accessible and affordable. Here, we focus on the health, happiness, and well-being of you and those we serve – we care.

What you do at McKesson matters. We foster a culture where you can grow, make an impact, and are empowered to bring new ideas. Together, we thrive as we shape the future of health for patients, our communities, and our people. If you want to be part of tomorrow’s health today, we want to hear from you.

McKesson is transforming healthcare through technology, data, and innovation. Within Macro Helix, part of Connected Care & Analytics, we help hospitals and health systems optimize pharmacy operations, improve financial performance, and maintain regulatory compliance.

As a Software Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our software solutions. This role combines hands-on manual testing with test automation, SQL validation, and quality engineering practices to support the successful delivery of healthcare technology products. We’re looking for a self-starter who can quickly learn complex applications, contribute to automation initiatives, and collaborate effectively within Agile development teams.

What You’ll Do
  • Execute functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing for complex healthcare applications.
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and reusable test frameworks.
  • Write and execute SQL queries to validate application functionality, business logic, and data integrity.
  • Collaborate with software engineers, product owners, and QA team members throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Create automated UI, API, and integration tests that run within CI/CD pipelines.
  • Identify, document, and track defects through resolution.
  • Analyze requirements and user stories to develop comprehensive test coverage.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to quality engineering best practices.
  • Monitor test results, regression coverage, and quality metrics to support continuous improvement.
  • Support adoption of automation-first testing practices and emerging AI-assisted testing capabilities.
Basic Requirements Minimum Education & Typical Experience or Equivalent Combination:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field and typically 4+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Skills & Experience
  • 4+ years of software testing or quality assurance experience.
  • Strong SQL skills with experience writing queries for testing and data validation.
  • Experience building or maintaining automated test frameworks and test suites.
  • Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Tosca, Selenium, or similar platforms.
  • Experience testing APIs, integrations, and end-to-end workflows.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, source control tools, and Agile teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve defects.
Preferred Skills/Experience
  • Experience designing and implementing scalable test automation frameworks.
  • Experience with C#, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or similar programming languages.
  • Experience testing cloud-based applications, including Microsoft Azure environments.
  • Experience with API testing tools such as SoapUI or Postman.
  • Experience with Jira, qTest, or similar Agile testing tools.
  • Experience with behavior-driven development tools such as Cucumber or JUnit.
  • Exposure to AI-enabled testing tools and automation practices.
  • Healthcare technology, pharmacy, revenue cycle, or healthcare software experience.
Work Environment & Travel
  • Preferred location: Atlanta, GA or Las Colinas, TX.
  • Hybrid work arrangement available based on business needs.
  • Team members in the Las Colinas office may be expected to work onsite a minimum of two days per week.
  • Atlanta-based employees may periodically attend onsite team meetings.
  • Limited travel may be required for team collaboration and business meetings.

This position offers the possibility of a hybrid work arrangement based on recent updates to our in-office/work-from-home model. If located in DFW area, the selected candidate may be expected to work on-site at our Las Colinas office a minimum of two (2) days per week, with the remaining days worked remotely. Specific in-office days may be designated according to team needs and business priorities.
