Logistics Manager - Urgently Hiring

S J Louis has an immediate need for a Logistics Manager to join our team! Ideal candidates will possess a positive can-do attitude, while working as part of a team who enjoys a fast-paced environment. This role provides an excellent opportunity for growth and continuous learning.

Position Responsibilities Include:

  • Direct supervision and scheduling of all drivers
  • Organizing of daily dispatch of freight, equipment or materials to job locations or customers
  • Coordinates routine and emergency transportation needs for internal and external customers
  • Ensures compliance of all related regulatory agencies:
    • DOT logs, Driver Inspections
    •  IFTA Reporting
    •  Driver Qualification files
  • Monitors and enforces compliance of all operators of required policies, laws, or other requirements
  • Tracks and processes Vehicle Registrations, Inspection, or Certifications as required.
  • Secures over size and specialty permits on a timely basis when applicable
  • Maintains positive relationships through effective communication with customers, vendors, and employees
  • Seeks opportunities for additional growth by selecting carriers and negotiating rates
  • Actively participates in the review and updating of processes and procedures
  • Manages all related financial process to insure maximum profitability of the department.

Do you meet the requirements we are seeking?

  • 5 years of experience in heavy equipment and logistics background is preferred
  • Knowledge of construction/heavy equipment industry
  • Knowledge of DOT/Federal Motor Carrier rules and regulations
  • Knowledge of GVW, state laws and regulations regarding height and weight maximums
  • Ability to interact with co-workers and vendors in a hands-on manner
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft office suite is required, other software experience is a plus!
