Job description

Arc Broward, a well-established accredited, non-profit organization based in Sunrise, FL is currently searching for pet treat bakers from our Animal Care program to join our growing family. 

For more than 60 years Arc Broward has worked hand-in-hand with our community, changing how people with disabilities and other life challenges are embraced and included.  This critical work ensures that people with disabilities, not only live, learn, work, and play in their communities, but more importantly, thrive. Arc Broward operates at 9 locations and provides 21 programs throughout Broward County, including its two pioneering Social Enterprises - Arc Educates and Arc Culinary.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (other duties may be assigned)

  • Baking: Assists in scratch baking pet treats from different recipes.  Being able to learn about proper ingredients to measure, mix and trim into various pet friendly shapes. Package and label treats with attention to detail.  
  • Supplies and Equipment: Keeps kitchen areas clean, organized and operating efficiently by enforcing adherence to operating instructions.
  • Customer Service: Displays behaviors and attitude that cultivates and maintains relationships with staff, students, vendors, customers and agency co-workers.
  • Safety: Maintains safe, secure, legal, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing sanitation and quality of food preparation and service standards and procedures. Ensures sanitation of the kitchen and all service areas..

Required Qualifications/Skills:

  • High School diploma or Equivalent
  • Animal Care Certificate of Completion
