A leading acute care hospital in Rome, Georgia is seeking experienced MedSurg/Telemetry Registered Nurses to join a fast-paced and highly collaborative healthcare team. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a diverse clinical environment with exposure to medical-surgical, cardiac, neuro, trauma, pulmonary, oncology, and critical care patients.

Position Details
  • Position: RN - MedSurg/Telemetry

  • Experience Required: Minimum 2 years in specialty

  • First-Time Travelers: Considered, but not preferred

  • Contract Length: 13 weeks


Patient Population & Unit ExposureMedical-Surgical Units

Experience with patients including:

  • Syncope

  • Stroke/CVA history

  • Oncology & palliative care

  • Orthopedic trauma & fractures

  • General surgery & trauma

  • Pulmonary conditions

  • Bariatric & vascular surgery patients

Stepdown & Critical Care Exposure
  • Neurology Stepdown

  • Cardiac Stepdown

  • Observation/Decision Unit

  • ICU (Medical, Neuro, Surgical & Cardiac)

Common Diagnoses
  • CHF

  • COPD

  • Sepsis

  • Acute respiratory failure

  • A-Fib

  • Cardiac arrhythmias

  • Stroke

  • Trauma

  • Post-op surgical patients

Required Certifications
  • BLS

  • Drains & chest tube management

  • Neuro, pulmonary, trauma & surgical patients

Note: Facility policy requires two nurses for Foley catheter insertion.

Week 2
  • 2-3 days unit orientation


Scheduling
  • 12-hour shifts

    • Days: 7A-7P

    • Nights: 7P-7A

  • Every other weekend rotation

  • Holiday requirement: 70%

  • On-call is rare and only if census is low
