Lewis-Palmer School District 38, located in Monument, CO, is looking for a Literacy Coach at Palmer Lake Elementary School for the 2026-2027 school year. This is a grant funded position and the grant is estimated to last for 4 years. The Coach will be a member of the Education Services Department, and will provide high-quality instructional support, working closely with building administration and teachers. The Literacy Coach supports literacy instruction across grades K-3, with a particular emphasis on providing job-embedded professional learning aligned to Science Based Reading Research (SBRR). The Coach supports the district's professional learning model by demonstrating lessons, observing classroom instruction, and providing supportive one-on-one coaching to teachers. The Coach, together with administrators and reading teachers, special education teachers, and classroom teachers, looks at student work and designs standards-based high-quality instruction. The Coach assists educators in interpreting reading assessment data, implementing READ Plans and MTSS interventions, and differentiating literacy instruction to meet the needs of individual students and small groups.
Must have, or be eligible to obtain a Colorado teaching license with appropriate endorsement. Must have a minimum of 5 years of successful classroom teaching experience and a strong ability to analyze student data, facilitate adult learning, and support continuous instructional improvement. A Master's Degree in Reading/Literacy or Curriculum and Instruction, or a related field is preferred. Demonstrated expertise in Literacy instruction and instructional coaching with knowledge of evidence-based literacy practices, intervention programs, assessments systems, READ Act requirements, and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) is preferred.
Exact placement on the pay schedule will be determined by the Director of Human Resources upon contracting. As a guideline, we offer up to 18 years of previous contractual teaching experience for a placement of Step 19, per school board policy. This pay range is based on education and experience levels with a range of $44,550 - $75,279. The current teacher pay schedule can be found on our website.
