\r\n\r\nWelcome to the Maryland Department of Health's (MDH)Public\r\nHealth Internship Programor PHIP(formerly known as the Public Health\r\nWorkforce Development Internship Program)!\r\n\r\nWe invite youto join us for our Fall 2026 cohort.\r\nThis program is designed to establish collaborative partnerships with academic\r\ninstitutions, providing invaluable student internship opportunitiesand\r\nfostering a seamless transition from graduation to the public health\r\nworkforce. The fall session will span 12 weeks, running fromSeptember 23, 2026 - December 15, 2026.\r\n\r\nWe inviteundergraduate and graduate students with a\r\nstrong academic standing and a specific interest in public health to apply. To\r\naccommodate different preferences and circumstances, we offerhybrid and\r\nin-person internship opportunities.During the 12-week period, students\r\ncan work up to a maximum of 240 hours, averaging approximately 20 hours per\r\nweek.\r\n\r\nOur program encompasses various exciting areas of this\r\ncohort,including Behavioral Sciences, Community Health, Epidemiology,\r\nHealth Education, Health Informatics, Health Policy, Healthcare Administration,\r\nInfectious Disease, Preparedness andResponse, and Public Health\r\nCommunications.\r\n\r\nTo ensure a tailored experience, please complete a\r\nsupplemental questionnaire that allows you to indicate your preferred subject\r\nareas,your interest in in-person or hybrid opportunities, and the county\r\nor counties where you would like to intern. Main Purpose of Job
\r\nInterns will be employed in various roles supporting\r\ndifferent departments throughout Maryland Department of Health. Interns\r\nwill be engaged in various projects that uphold MDH's mission to promote and\r\nimprove the health and safety of all Marylanders through disease prevention,\r\naccess to care, quality management, and community engagement. Maryland\r\nDepartment of Health is comprised of 5 administrations: Public Health\r\nAdministration (PHA), Maryland Medicaid Administration (MMA), Developmental Disabilities\r\nAdministration (DDA), Behavioral Health Administration (BHA), and\r\nOperations. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates must possess the following:\r\n\r\n At\r\n least 60 credit hours from an accredited college or university with\r\n current enrollment in an undergraduate programORcandidates\r\n must becurrently enrolled in a graduate program.\r\n Must\r\n have at least a 2.5 GPA or equivalent.\r\n Recent\r\n graduates from an accredited college or university may also apply.\r\n Recent\r\n graduates are defined as individuals who have completed a bachelor's or\r\n master's degree from an accredited college or universityon or after\r\n August 1, 2025.\r\n\r\n\r\nTranscripts, diplomas, and/or proof of enrollment must be submitted at time\r\nof application. Transcripts may be unofficial. Transcripts or any\r\ndocumentation submitted after the closing date will not be accepted.\r\n\r\n\r\nPlease review the instructions listed at the end of\r\nthis announcement before submitting your application.\r\n\r\n
