As a Behavioral Health Therapist, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality behavioral health programs for HHSC Kaua'i Region by providing direct assessment, therapy, and group therapy services to individuals with Dual Diagnosis Use Disorders (SUD) and Severe Mental Illness (SMI) in adult and adolescent programs. This includes inpatient, intensive outpatient, group, family, and individual outpatient settings. You will conduct comprehensive assessments, develop individual treatment plans, provide therapeutic interventions and counseling to clients and their families, and collaborate with nursing and medical staff to plan and deliver psychiatric patient care. Additionally, you will advocate for clients, connect them with community resources, document progress and outcomes to enhance the quality of care, and perform other assigned duties. Please note that this position is regional and may require long hours, weekend and holiday work, and travel to various facilities within the region to meet patient care needs.
We seek an enthusiastic and empathetic professional who holds a valid Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) license in the state of Hawai'i, demonstrates strong interpersonal and communication skills, and is committed to providing culturally competent care. THE MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS ARE: Applicants must meet all of the following requirements. Please note that unless specifically indicated, the required education and experiences may not be gained concurrently. In addition, qualifying work experiences are based on a 40-hour work week. Applicants are required to provide evidence of education, certification, and licensure.
EDUCATION: Graduation from an accredited institution with a degree in Clinical Psychology or Clinical Social Work.
LICENSURE: Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to practice in the State of Hawai'i.
CERTIFICATION: Current and valid certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) in Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Workers.
EXPERIENCE: A minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in treating patients with dual diagnosis, SUD, and SMI, as well as facilitating group therapy sessions.
PREFERRED SKILLS & ABILITIES: Eligibility for credentialing with all insurance payors.

Your letter requesting the Administrative Review must include: 1) The job title(s) and recruitment number(s), 2) the specific reason(s) you are requesting the review noting if there is statute or rule violation, and 3) any additional information you want to submit to substantiate your request. If you do not submit your request within the twenty (20) days deadline, no Administrative Review will be conducted. Since the Administrative Review is a prerequisite to subsequent steps, failure to utilize this process will make you ineligible for subsequent appeals. The administrative review, formal complaint and/or appeals hearing will not necessarily postpone the recruitment process and/or rescind a selection. If you do not agree with the Administrative Review, you may file a Formal Compliant and then, if you are still not satisfied, you can appeal to the HHSC Merit Appeals Board.
