AXIS is seeking a Head of Claims Value Stream to join our Business Technology Services (BTS) division. This role is accountable for end-to-end ownership of the Claims value stream, driving enterprise-wide transformation across claims capabilities, technology platforms, and operating models.
As a strategic partner to Claims executive leadership, this role will define and execute a multi-year vision and investment strategy that enhances business performance, improves customer outcomes, and drives sustainable competitive advantage. The role blends business and technology leadership, with full accountability for value realization, financial performance, and delivery outcomes across the claims ecosystem.

The Head of Claims Value Stream will lead a globally distributed, cross-functional organization, shaping how AXIS delivers claims capabilities through modern Agile practices, emerging technologies, and continuous innovation.

What will you do in this role?

  • Own end-to-end performance of the Claims value stream, including strategy, execution, financials, and measurable business outcomes (e.g., cycle time, loss ratio, cost efficiency, customer experience).

  • Define and drive the enterprise Claims technology and process strategy, aligning with corporate objectives and long-term growth priorities.

  • Develop and manage a multi-year investment roadmap and portfolio, balancing business value, cost, risk, and speed-to-market.

  • Act as the primary technology advisor to Claims executive leadership, shaping strategic decisions and influencing enterprise priorities.

  • Establish and govern value realization frameworks, ensuring all investments are tied to quantifiable business outcomes.

  • Lead large-scale transformation initiatives, including platform modernization, automation, advanced analytics, and AI-enabled capabilities.

  • Oversee the design and evolution of the Claims operating model, ensuring alignment between business, technology, and delivery teams.

  • Drive cross-functional alignment across underwriting, finance, operations, and risk to optimize end-to-end value delivery.

  • Build and lead a high-performing, globally distributed organization, including senior leaders across product management, engineering, architecture, and delivery.

  • Own portfolio financials, including budgeting, forecasting, cost optimization, and ROI realization for a significant investment portfolio.

Role Factors
In this role, you will typically be required to:

  • Embrace the hybrid culture offered at AXIS, working in the office approximately 3 days per week.

  • Travel as needed to support global teams, leadership alignment, and strategic initiatives.

  • NYC/NJ preferred, but not limiting

For this position, we currently expect to offer a base salary in the range of $230,000 to $260,000. Your salary offer will be based on an assessment of a variety of factors including your specific experience and work location.

In addition, you will be offered competitive target incentive compensation, with awards based on overall corporate and individual performance. On top of this, you will be eligible for a comprehensive and competitive benefits package which includes medical plans for you and your family, health and wellness programs, retirement plans, tuition reimbursement, paid vacation, and much more.
