The SVP, Head of Business Banking Officer is responsible for providing strategic leadership, vision, and direction for WSFS Bank's Business Banking division, including the Small Business, SBA, and Business Banking segments. This executive leader will drive growth, profitability, customer acquisition, relationship deepening, and market expansion while maintaining strong credit quality and risk management practices. Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic initiatives that drive loan growth, deposit growth, market share expansion, and overall profitability.
  • Foster a high-performance sales culture focused on relationship acquisition, customer retention, and cross-selling of business banking solutions.
  • Ensure alignment of Business Banking strategies with the broader Consumer and Commercial Banking objectives.
  • Lead efforts to strengthen WSFS’s position as the preferred banking partner for small businesses throughout the market footprint.
  • Collaborate with Consumer Banking, Commercial Banking, Retail Banking, and other business leaders to optimize relationship banking strategies.
  • Ensure seamless delivery of business banking products and services across relationship managers, branch networks, contact centers, and digital channels.
  • Drive initiatives that deepen customer relationships and increase utilization of deposits, treasury management, lending, and other business services.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of managers and associates while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Establish performance expectations and coach leaders to achieve strategic objectives and business results.
  • Oversee organizational planning, succession development, workforce management, and talent acquisition initiatives within Business Banking.
  • Develop annual business plans, budgets, and tactical action plans to support divisional growth objectives.
  • Partner with Marketing, Product Management, and Sales Enablement teams to develop competitive pricing strategies, product enhancements, and go-to-market initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Credit Officer and Risk Management leadership to maintain strong credit standards and a balanced risk‑reward framework.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, internal policies, and risk management practices.
  • Monitor portfolio performance and proactively identify opportunities to improve credit quality and operational effectiveness.
  • Accountable for achieving financial targets for the Business Banking division, including: Loan growth Deposit growth Household and customer acquisition growth Revenue and net income production Market share expansion Maintain strong portfolio performance, credit quality, and overall risk management discipline.
  • Utilize data, analytics, and market intelligence to identify growth opportunities and improve business performance.
  • Drive operational efficiencies and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance customer and associate experiences.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field required; MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive banking experience in Business Banking, Commercial Banking, Small Business Lending, Consumer Lending, or related disciplines.
  • Minimum of 10 years of senior leadership experience managing large teams, multiple business units, and significant P&L responsibility.
  • Proven track record of delivering sustained growth, profitability, and market expansion while maintaining strong credit quality and risk controls.
  • Experience managing and developing high‑performing sales and relationship management teams.
  • Extensive expertise in commercial lending, small business banking, SBA lending, credit administration, and portfolio management.
  • Strong understanding of commercial and consumer deposit and lending products.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute business growth strategies in competitive markets.
  • Demonstrated success leading large, geographically dispersed teams and complex business operations.
  • Experience delivering banking solutions through branch, contact center, online, mobile, and other digital channels.
  • Strong strategic thinking, financial acumen, and business planning capabilities.
  • Exceptional leadership, coaching, team development, and change management skills.
  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and relationship management abilities.

Salary Range

Salary Range: $160,476.00 - $263,637.75 Individual base pay may vary on additional factors such as the candidate’s experience, job‑related skills, relevant education, geographic location, and other specific business and organizational needs.
