Job description

A hospital in Las Cruces, NM is seeking a senior-level Director of Risk Management. This is an on-site leadership role responsible for overseeing risk management programs and functions within the facility. Partial relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.

The role. The Director of Risk Management will lead the development, implementation, and oversight of risk management strategies and initiatives across the organization. This position works closely with nursing, clinical, and administrative leadership to identify, evaluate, and mitigate risks that affect patient safety and organizational liability. The role requires both clinical nursing expertise and demonstrated experience in healthcare risk management.

What we're looking for.

  • Active New Mexico RN license or multistate (compact) RN license
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing school
  • Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, with at least 3 years in a Director or Manager capacity
  • Demonstrated risk management experience
  • Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) preferred upon hire; required within 3 years of employment
  • Preferred: Prior acute healthcare risk management experience, which may substitute for the leadership experience requirement
  • Preferred: Experience working in a for-profit hospital setting
  • Preferred: Previous Director-level experience

Compensation. $120,000 - $150,000 per year
