HR Policy, Risk & Controls Manager (HR Operations & Compliance) โ€” Bridgewater, NJRole Overview

Ensures HR policies, processes, and programs align with internal controls, regulatory requirements, and the company risk management framework; oversees HR risk/controls as a second line of defense and partners with Internal Audit and external auditors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop/maintain HR policies and procedures.
  • Monitor HR compliance; identify, assess, and mitigate emerging risks.
  • Lead compliance assessments, corrective actions, remediation.
  • Monitor HR risk indicators/trends; investigate root causes; report to HR leadership.
  • Oversee data privacy and employee investigation governance.
  • Lead HR regulatory reporting, compliance documentation, and training.
  • Own/maintain the HR Risk & Control Matrix (RCM).
  • Ensure controls are understood, designed, executed, and documented.
  • Perform control checks and quarterly assessments; remediate gaps.
  • Oversee HR SOX controls (documentation, testing, evidence, remediation).
  • Support audits and control walkthroughs; track remediation to completion.
Requirements
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in HR, Business Administration, Risk Management, Compliance, or related (required).
  • Masterโ€™s degree (a plus).
  • 5+ years in HR/compliance/internal audit/risk management (cross-functional, fast-paced).
  • Strong risk management and compliance framework knowledge.
  • Familiarity with HR systems and data privacy laws (e.g., GDPR/CCPA); internal audit practice.
  • Analytical, detail-oriented, confidential; strong communication/stakeholder management.
  • Advanced Excel; HRIS (Workday) and audit/compliance tools; Power BI (preferred); SharePoint/Smartsheet (experience).
