Job Summary: The Fraud Analyst is responsible for detecting and preventing fraud across assigned project-related ticketing networks. They conduct daily monitoring activities, investigate cases of actual or suspected fraud, and implement processes to prevent fraudulent activity while minimizing false positives and customer impact. The role involves configuring and maintaining fraud detection systems and collaborating with vendors and stakeholders. The mission is to maximize revenue channels' profitability while minimizing fraud risk. The position requires discretionary decision-making authority.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily reviews and analysis to identify fraud cases across all channels.
  • Investigate and resolve cases of actual or potential fraud, identifying root causes and developing solutions.
  • Monitor and analyze data trends to support fraud prevention activities.
  • Configure and maintain fraud detection systems, collaborating with vendors for rule adjustments.
  • Oversee stand-alone database tools for analysis and reporting purposes.
  • Conduct user acceptance testing of system enhancements and changes.
  • Develop and implement reporting on potentially fraudulent activity.
  • Monitor and detect instances of internal and external fraud, implementing control enhancements.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and company policies.
  • Regularly review and improve control processes and procedures.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on fraud monitoring and prevention.
  • Manage internal and external audits related to fraud activities and controls.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a business/legal/technology discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Five years of experience in fraud management or business analysis.
  • Understanding of payment processing and fraud prevention processes.
  • Experience with transactional systems and fraud detection systems.
  • Ability to analyze data patterns and detect potential fraud.
  • Knowledge of relational database management systems and experience with SAS and/or SQL.


Desirable:

  • Professional certifications in industry-related fields.
  • Experience with specific fraud detection systems like ReD Shield & Apache Storm.
  • Knowledge of Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) regulations.
  • Understanding of Chargeback rules.
  • Experience liaising with technical and finance teams.
