Position Description

This role is responsible for developing and implementing Corporate Risk Management and Environmental, Health and Safety strategies, frameworks, and systems to prevent losses and proactively mitigate and control risk. This role also leads the placement and coordination of Commercial Property & Casualty and Personal Lines Insurance programs, including leadership and administration of two wholly-owned insurance captives, the Enterprise Risk Management process, and claims management. This role reports to the CHRO and oversees the Manager of Corporate Safety and Director of Risk Management.

Responsibilities
  • Establish risk management and E,H,S policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Identify and analyze risk exposures and determine how to respond. Continually monitor.
  • Provide consulting services to businesses on E,H,S, insurance and risk management issues.
  • Evaluate, negotiate and select commercial and personal lines insurance programs to include coverages, limits, retention levels, strong carriers, cost, service, etc., and communicate to appropriate parties.
  • Lead, manage and perform administrative duties associated with the organization’s captive insurance companies.
  • Lead the Enterprise Risk Management process to ensure the organization’s most significant risks are identified and mitigated.
  • Oversee claims management activities.
  • Review insurance provisions in major business & financial contracts.
  • Develop and direct production of reports and analyze financial results of the risk management program.
  • Develop training programs on insurance and risk management issues.
  • Spearhead risk management due diligence related to acquisitions.
  • Direct inspections, surveys and audits within family portfolio, operating businesses and partnership deal contracts.
  • Ensure all reporting requirements are met under existing insurance policies.
  • Direct risk management staff.
  • Travel 15%-20% of the time.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree (Risk Management Degree Preferred); Master’s Degree in Business Administration preferred.
  • CPCU, ARM or CRM preferred.
  • Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem resolution and analytical abilities.
  • Deep understanding of Risk Management for a large, complex organization to include commercial insurance placement and E,H,S in a corporate role (preferred) or consulting role.
  • Strong understanding of insurance coverages.
  • Management experience with captive insurance companies and Enterprise Risk Management processes.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Ability to make quick and practical decisions.
  • Focused, organized & results oriented.
