Position Summary

American Credit Acceptance is seeking a Head of Learning and Development to lead our Learning and Development function and serve as a key member of the Human Resources leadership team.

This leader will set the vision and strategy for learning and development across the organization, building capabilities that strengthen leadership, improve associate performance, and support ACA’s business priorities. Partnering closely with senior leaders and teams across the company, the Head of Learning and Development will identify performance and capability needs, design scalable solutions, and use meaningful measures to evaluate business impact.

The ideal candidate is an accomplished people and learning leader who combines strategic thinking with a strong bias for execution. They will bring experience building and leading high-performing L&D teams, creating modern learning and leadership development solutions, and translating business challenges into programs and experiences that produce measurable improvements in performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set and lead the enterprise Learning and Development strategy, aligning priorities and investments with ACA’s business and talent objectives
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, diagnosing performance and capability needs and translating business challenges into practical, scalable solutions
  • Lead, coach, and develop the Learning and Development team, establishing clear priorities, capabilities, and standards for the function
  • Provide strategic oversight for leadership development, associate learning, onboarding, curriculum and content development, and other enterprise learning initiatives
  • Build an approach to measurement that evaluates learning effectiveness, behavior change, and business impact, and use insights to continuously improve solutions
  • Establish and manage the L&D operating model, including priorities, resources, technology, external partners, vendors, and budget
  • Partner across Human Resources and the business on talent development, performance, engagement, organizational effectiveness, and change initiatives
  • Identify opportunities to modernize learning practices, tools, and experiences to improve accessibility, scalability, and impact

Qualifications

  • Significant experience leading Learning and Development, talent development, or related functions within a corporate environment
  • Demonstrated experience leading, developing, and building high-performing teams
  • Proven ability to develop and execute learning strategies that support business priorities and improve organizational performance
  • Strong executive presence and demonstrated ability to influence, advise, and build trusted relationships with leaders at multiple levels
  • Deep understanding of learning and performance disciplines, including instructional design, facilitation, leadership development, and program evaluation
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose performance needs and determine when learning—or another solution—is the appropriate response
  • Experience establishing meaningful measures of effectiveness and using data, feedback, and business results to improve learning investments
  • Strong strategic planning, communication, change leadership, and program management capabilities
  • Experience managing learning technologies, external partners, vendors, and budgets
