Job Description: An Aqua-Tots Assistant Aquatics Manager is responsible for aiding the Aquatic Manager in overseeing in-water operations of their school and to ensure the safety and quality of our lessons. They are required to build relationships with their Aquatic Manager, General Manager, and staff while adhering to our core values and behaviors.

Assistant Aquatic Manager:
● Full Time, Hourly Position
Scheduling/Staffing/Training/Evaluations
● Assist with interviews and water trials planning and follow up per Aquatic
Managers instructions
● Continuously conducts positive staff evaluations effective co-teaching

● Assists in finding substitute instructors and resolve scheduling conflicts
● Brainstorm with Aquatic Manager and General Manager to improve internal
operational systems (schedule, plan, staff, building)
● Conducts performance evaluations of all swim instructors
● Develop the next generation of excellent swim instructors, shift leads, desk
supervisors and deck hands for Aqua-Tots
● Assists in meetings, training, and communication to swim staff
● Assist in planning and implementing monthly in-services
● Assists in Deck Supervisor/Deck Hand meetings/trainings
● Assists swim club coaching staff to ensure they are using the curriculum properly
and getting effective results for their students
● Coaching swim instructors to provide an exceptional experience for
complimentary evaluations resulting in an enrollment
● Assist an Aquatic Manager in ensuring responsibilities are assigned and followed
through on during their absence
Customer Service
● Follow and implement Aqua-Tots Swim Schools customer service guidelines to
ensure an exceptional customer experience for every customer, every time.
● Ensure quality and progression of lessons are being taught by water safety
instructors to keep students swimming throughout each level of our program
● Communicate effectively with potential and existing customers
● Build relationships with families to create a family friendly environment
● Respond to parents within 48 hours of any reported instructor performance
concerns and keep accurate documentation
● Report unresolved aquatic complaints to General Manager
Maintenance
● Assist an Aquatics Manager in all daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly
maintenance correctly
● Ensure pool is prepared for yearly health department inspections
● Communicate with General Manager any needs for supplies
● Assist Aquatic Manager with pool maintenance, including any of the following:
○ Maintain teaching zone supplies
○ Clean pool deck with Wysi wash
○ Maintain daily checklist
○ Assist in weekly cleaning of drip zone
○ Check Aeon monitor daily for alarms
○ Check chemical levels of backstock daily in large chemical bins
○ Clean all pool skimmers/drains
○ Vacuum the pool and scrub/sanitize the pool deck according to schedule
○ Clean the grates outside of the pool where the wet students exit following classes
○ Clean pump equipment and keep pump room organized
○ Adjust chemical flow equipment to ensure balance
○ Clean build-up on various machinery and equipment to prevent future issues
○ Scrub surfaces as necessary to maintain clean and operational equipment
Weekly Duties
● Participate in the weekly management meetings - if unable to attend, meet separately with Aquatic Manager to keep involved in school operations
● Assist in aqua card nightly checks
● Review Deck Supervisor responsibilities in Hydro app, coach and address any issues that arise from Deck Supervisor shifts
● Update all Water Safety Instructor shout out cards
● Come prepared to weekly meetings with school’s management team
● Assist in scheduling and running IWSEs
● Implement Aqua-Tots curriculum and teaching philosophies by teaching two shifts per week
● Support and lead aquatic staff in daily operations
● Ensure completion of daily/weekly pool checklist
● Assist in correcting swim instructor performance issues and instructor specific concerns
● Assist in pool operations- implementing local State/County Health Department standards
● Monitor deck supervisors and deck hands
● Review staff rolls prior to lessons starting
● Uphold the employee moral
● Monitor aquatic staff -90% attendance policy
● Assist in weekly staff evaluations
● Rotate Saturday and Sunday shifts with your Aquatic Manger
● Works with your leadership team to ensure that they have all the tools and
support needed in order run all operations efficiently and effectively
● Come prepared to weekly meetings with school’s management team
● Assist in scheduling and running In-water Skills Education
Monthly Duties
● Assist with implementation of monthly Deck Supervisor and Water Safety Instructor in-services
● Ensure all new initiatives/processes/procedures are trained on and implemented correctly by all staff
● Prepare super star swimmer bag and ensure picture gets ups on TV loop
● Assist your Aquatic Manager to plan, staff and execute quarterly swim meets.
● Assist in planning and leading monthly aquatic in-service meetings
● Work with other Aqua-Tots Aquatic Managers to plan staff outings when required
● Assist in maintaining stock of rash guards/t-shirts
● Ensure all new initiatives/processes/procedures are trained on and implemented correctly by all staff
● Work with your Aquatic Manager to plan, staff and execute quarterly swim meets.
