Description
Head Girls Basketball Coach Timpview High School is seeking an experienced, passionate, and student-centered to lead and develop a competitive, education-based basketball program.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to student-athlete development, academic success, character, teamwork, discipline, and competitive excellence.
The head coach will build a positive and inclusive program culture that develops athletes on and off the court while representing the values and traditions of Timpview High School.
The Head Girls Basketball Coach will:
  • Lead and oversee the girls basketball program, including varsity, junior varsity, and sophomore teams.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive basketball program focused on skill development, teamwork, conditioning, and competitive excellence.
  • Establish a positive team culture based on character, accountability, respect, commitment, and sportsmanship .
  • Develop strong relationships with student-athletes while serving as a positive mentor and role model.
  • Prioritize student-athletes' academic success and personal development.
  • Plan and conduct effective practices, workouts, camps, clinics, and offseason activities.
  • Teach fundamental and advanced basketball skills, offensive and defensive systems, game strategies, and proper conditioning techniques.
  • Recruit, select, supervise, and provide leadership to assistant coaches and other basketball staff.
  • Establish clear expectations for athletes and coaches and consistently uphold program standards.
  • Work collaboratively with the Athletic Director, school administration, teachers, counselors, parents/guardians, and other coaches.
  • Maintain effective communication with student-athletes and families.
  • Manage program equipment, facilities, uniforms, and other resources responsibly.
  • Develop and oversee a fiscally responsible basketball program budget.
  • Coordinate appropriate fundraising activities and community support for the program.
  • Schedule and coordinate practices, games, tournaments, camps, and other team activities.
  • Ensure compliance with Provo City School District, UHSAA, and Timpview High School policies and procedures .
  • Promote a positive image of Timpview High School and its athletic programs.
  • Encourage athletes to demonstrate good sportsmanship and represent Timpview with pride and integrity.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the Athletic Director or school administration.

The Head Coach will be responsible for creating a unified program from the freshman/sophomore level through varsity.
The successful candidate will:
  • Establish a clear vision and philosophy for the girls basketball program.
  • Build consistency across all levels of the program.
  • Develop strong communication and collaboration among coaching staff.
  • Create opportunities for younger athletes to develop skills and prepare for future varsity success.
  • Foster positive relationships with Timpview students, families, alumni, and the community.
  • Work cooperatively with other Timpview athletic programs to promote a strong overall athletic culture.
