Job description

Position Title: Pipe Equipment Operator II

Department: Pipe

Supervisor: Pipe Foreman

Location: Athens, AL

Essential Job Functions:

  • Operate track hoes, loaders, excavators, and other heavy machinery to move, transport, and position pipe materials and other equipment
  • Use equipment to load and unload pipe sections and transport materials to designated locations
  • Assist in preparing construction sites by clearing debris, leveling ground, and setting up equipment for pipe installation
  • Complete daily equipment inspections and report any issues immediately
  • Maintain a high level of quality work at all times
  • Maintain good relationships with Technicians, Foreman, Superintendents, Inspectors, Developers, and other co-workers at all times
  • Aid coworkers to ensure that the site is clean and organized at the end of each shift
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work tasks
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Represent and promote Grayson Carter and Son in a professional and honest manner

Job Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Ability to perform as lead man
  • Ability to communicate and convey information effectively
  • Must be physically able to stand, walk, sit, crouch, kneel, climb, and periodically lift 75 pounds
  • Knowledge of OSHA Standards
  • Ability to obtain Arsenal and FBI Badge preferred, but not required
  • Requires personal transportation to job sites
  • Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) on all job sites as required
  • Work weekends and overtime as needed
  • Committed to attending work each day
  • Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
