Job description

Position Title: Data Center Technician
Location: Ashburn, VA
Pay Rate: $60/hr on W2
Shift: Night shift - Four 10-hour shifts Specific shift days = Wed-Sat.
Description: Coordinates, monitors, administers, and services technical environments. Completes implementations, carries out integration activities, and provides operational support for technical environments.

Basic Purpose: Provide onsite technical support for Navy Federal's data center and equipment to ensure continuous availability. Perform troubleshooting, escalations, and resolve incidents and problems when detected. Interface with various support teams and vendors to ensure appropriate resolution during system outages or periods of reduced performance. Able to innovate and make decisions on his/her own, but also know how to take direction when it is given, paying attention to all details involved.
Responsibilities
• Network installation & maintenance (rack & stack, cabling, parts replacement, etc.) - Basic/Routine
• Server installation & maintenance (rack & stack, HDD, memory, CPU, RAID batteries, NICs, etc.) - Basic/Routine
• Data Center staging, deployment, and logistics/asset management support - Basic/Routine
• Site builds & refreshes, while meeting current quality standards- Basic/Routine
• Data Center hardware break/fix/move/add/change; component replacement, hardware troubleshooting- Basic/Routine
• Extensive enterprise cable installation experience as well as industry cabling standards- Basic/Routine
• Ability to provide adequate fiber and copper cable testing with minimal supervision- Basic/Routine
• Ability to terminate Cat 6 cabling- Basic/Routine
• Create/update/maintain rack elevations within a DCIM application (Nlyte) -Participates in
• Maintain inventory control and documentation on systems and components to ensure updates occur according to schedule and procedure -Participates in
