Description

American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for an Orthopedic/Med-Surg inpatient unit, requiring at least 1 year of nursing experience, Epic proficiency, and Level 1 Trauma experience.

Details
  • Inpatient orthopedic and medical-surgical unit in a Level 1 Trauma hospital setting
  • Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
  • Rotating holiday shifts required
  • 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
  • Floating to similar units may be required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • No on-call requirements
Requirements
  • Active IL RN license in good standing (temp license accepted)
  • BLS certification (American Heart Association)
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant RN experience
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Level 1 Trauma experience required
  • Associate's degree in Nursing (ASN) required; BSN preferred
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted
Additional Information
  • Assess orthopedic and medical-surgical patients each shift and develop individualized care plans
  • Educate patients on wound care, mobility, self-care, medication management, and care transition needs
  • Set up orthopedic traction and manipulate surgical traction devices for mobility and wound care
  • Manage wound appliances including wound vacs, drains, pouches, and urological devices
  • Coordinate with physician and surgeon partners on patient care
  • Delegate and monitor interventions performed by HCT staff
  • RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract
  • Travelers who have been on assignment at this health system for 1 continuous year must either convert to permanent staff or take a 6-month break before returning to any location within the health system
