Job description

MetLife Legal Plans is currently hiring an Account Specialist for our growing Business Growth & Retention department.

This is a hybrid position with roughly two days per week in our Cleveland, OH office and three days a week remote.

This individual will report directly into our Manager of National Accounts.

A day in the life of a National Account Specialist at MetLife Legal Plans:

The Account Specialist administers most aspects of our relationship with existing and new corporate sponsors. This includes internal/external system set-ups, contracts, enrollment files, payments, renewals and communications for groups over 5,000 benefit eligible employees.

Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Responsibilities):

  • Manage and grow relationships for a portfolio of up to 150 group customers.
  • Lead new account implementations and support ongoing account maintenance.
  • Develop and execute enrollment, renewal, and retention strategies to drive customer growth.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between customers, brokers, strategic partners, and internal teams.
  • Conduct customer meetings, presentations, and stewardship discussions.
  • Create proposals, presentations, communication plans, and marketing support materials.
  • Analyze account performance and utilization data to identify coverage, rate, and plan design opportunities.
  • Coordinate contracts, renewals, enrollment files, payments, and revenue collection activities.
  • Maintain accurate customer data, system setup, and CRM records.
  • Support open enrollment activities and ensure a seamless customer experience.
  • Manage specialized business opportunities, including affinity groups and consolidated customer blocks.
  • Provide team support through training, skill development, customer visits, and other assigned responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, skills, and abilities required):

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited University.
  • 3+ years of experience in an account management or similar role.
  • Experience working with a CRM, Salesforce preferred.
  • Detail-oriented and well-organized, with the ability to effectively manage a high-volume workload
  • Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative and work independently
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in written correspondence
  • Ability to interact effectively with team members at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to interact effectively with external partners and clients over the phone
  • Ability to travel as needed for client meetings
