Summary
CHS in Edgerton, WI is looking for a Hazmat Truck Driver to join our team! This individual would be responsible for hauling refined fuels and LP to our local customers. This is a M-F home daily position with Saturdays as needed during the busy season. The ideal candidate would have a Class A CDL with hazmat and tanker endorsements and 2+ years of tractor trailer experience. Join our team today!
Responsibilities
  • Operate a semi-tractor and tanker trailer to deliver hazardous energy-grade materials to customer sites in a safe, compliant manner.
  • Comply with DOT regulations and company policies for safe driving, including route and hazard awareness.
  • Load and unload products by connecting/disconnecting loading arms and hoses; follow all hazardous material handling and transfer safety procedures.
  • Deliver professional, customer-focused service during pickups and deliveries, coordinate with customers and internal teams.
  • Prepare delivery documentation and daily load/unload reports; record accurate electronic logs.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections; submit maintenance reports and escalate repair needs and equipment issues promptly.
  • Immediately notify leadership of incidents, near misses, spills/releases, or safety concerns; execute required response and reporting procedures.
  • Support related tasks such as equipment hookups, site readiness checks, and assigned duties

Minimum Qualifications (required)
  • Valid Class A or Class B CDL (as required for the equipment/route)
  • Valid Hazmat and Tanker endorsements required
  • 2+ years of verifiable CDL driving experience
  • Must meet age requirement
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and compliance, and complete required documentation accurately.

Additional Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience hauling hazardous materials
  • Demonstrated safety performance and consistent adherence to procedures in hazardous materials operations.
  • Demonstrated customer service and communication skills; interact professionally with internal teams and customers.
  • Demonstrated experience completing tanker product transfers (loading/unloading) and related documentation in a regulated environment.
  • Pre-employment screening is based on the job requirements and industry guidelines and may or may not be required for the position. If required, selected candidates must pass pre-employment screenings, which may include all or a combination of drug, criminal, motor vehicle check, physical requirements, and FMCSA Clearinghouse.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to safely climb in and out of truck cabs and to the top of a tanker trailer
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions; travel and time away from home as required by the schedule
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and in environments with regular exposure to hazardous materials.
