This role is crucial to keeping our show running smoothly, from pre-season setup to mid-season troubleshooting and post-season tear down.

Position Summary:

The Haunted Attraction Technician will work closely with our operations and build teams to ensure all technical elements of the attraction function at the highest level. Responsibilities include set assembly, prop repair, lighting and special effect maintenance, and daily troubleshooting during show operations. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving and working behind the scenes of a massive immersive event.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with setup and teardown of haunted attraction structures, sets, and technical elements.
  • Perform on-site maintenance and repairs during show operations (props, pneumatic systems, lighting, sound, fog/smoke machines).
  • Operate and maintain power tools and basic construction equipment safely and effectively.
  • Drive and maneuver utility vehicles (UTVs, small equipment) safely on event grounds.
  • Support the scenic and technical team with adjustments, wiring, and prop placement as needed.
  • Respond quickly to technical issues to minimize show interruptions.
  • Follow strict safety protocols at all times for personal and guest safety.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

  • Basic mechanical and technical skills (experience with pneumatics, lighting, or sound systems is a plus).
  • Ability to use power tools confidently and safely.
  • Comfortable driving UTVs and small work vehicles on uneven terrain.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to stay calm under pressure.
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and in all weather conditions during the event season.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Prior experience in event operations, technical theater, or haunted attraction work is a bonus, but not required - we will train the right person!

Schedule & Pay:

  • Seasonal Position: August through early November (potential for full-time opportunity in the future).
  • Flexible scheduling with heavier hours during event nights.
  • Pay Range: $18 - $28/hour, based on experience.

Why Join Our Team?

You'll be part of a legendary haunted event and work in a thrilling environment where no two days are the same. We offer a hands-on role with room to grow, and the opportunity to transition into a full-time position for the right candidate.
