Fright Fest Gate Keepers

Job Type: Seasonal 

Pay Rate: Starting at $13.50 per hour

  • Friday, July 17th 7:00 - 9:00 pm 

Do you want to be a part of the Fright Fest Team but maybe scaring guests isn’t your thing? Join our team of seasonal Gate Keepers to work together to deliver exceptional service to our guests while they are waiting for the thrills and chills to begin.


Responsibilities:

Our Gate Keepers provide support to Fright Fest Haunted Houses and Shows by assisting guests in and around the queue lines/ theatres, building and breaking down queue equipment, providing crowd control, and maintaining the flow of the Haunted House or Show by monitoring the queue and venue to proactively ensure compliance with safety standards & restrictions.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Working with Haunt Supervisors and Stage Manager to maintain haunt flow, safety, and stopping procedures.
  • Energetically interacting with the guests and relaying information and haunt guidelines to groups of guests prior to their entry into the haunts.
  • Setting up and breaking down stanchions, ropes, and barricades to appropriately configure the length of the queue on a nightly basis.
  • Regulating the queue lines and maintaining efficient through put of assigned Haunted Houses or Shows by efficiently directing and loading and unloading guests.
  • Assisting guests while in a queue line, venue, or show by providing direction, enforcing restrictions, monitoring crowds, performing crowd control duties, and addressing safety concerns.
  • Ensuring safe behavior of guests, Scare-Actors and Entertainers in conjunction with the Entertainment Supervisors and Stage Managers.
  • Providing over-the-top service by engaging the guests and evoking the theme or story-line of the assigned area. Enthusiastically greeting and welcoming guests and engaging in a positive, polite and friendly manner when monitoring the queue area and providing direction or safety instructions.
  • Assisting with the cleaning and sanitation of the queue line and theatre areas both backstage and around the venue.
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established Six Flags Fiesta Texas policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  •  Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • You must be at least 16 years of age to be hired as a Fright Fest Employee.
  • Must demonstrate ability to perform in a casted role during the audition process.
  • Must be able to work outdoors during evening hours in various weather conditions.
  • Must be available for all rehearsal and performance dates (schedule conflicts must be pre-approved).
  • Must be able to multitask while maintaining a positive attitude to ensure excellent guest service.
  • Must possess the mental and physical capacities necessary to perform the job duties.
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule to include weekdays, weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Audition details: Parking is available in the Employee Parking Lot Address: 17000 I-10, San Antonio, TX 78257 and you can sign in and enter through the Security Station. 

OTHER NOTES:

  • Training for these positions will begin late August. Fright Fest opens on Friday, September 11th and runs every weekend (Friday – Sunday) and a few select weekdays through November 1st. We will be open on Monday, October 12th.
