We are seeking an experienced Vice President of Marketplace to lead our marketplace business across Amazon, Walmart, TikTok Shop, and emerging commerce platforms. This executive will own the vision, strategy, and execution for one of the company's fastest-growing channels, driving profitable revenue growth while building the capabilities, teams, and partnerships needed to scale.

This leader will oversee marketplace strategy across multiple consumer brands including 1-800-Flowers, Harry & David, Cheryl's Cookies, and more. They will partner closely with Marketing, Merchandising, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Technology, and Brand teams to ensure our marketplace business is positioned for continued success.

The ideal candidate is an experienced marketplace executive with deep Amazon expertise, a proven track record leading high-performing teams, and the ability to influence stakeholders across a complex organization.

You'll build the roadmap, develop organizational capabilities, and influence executive decision making while driving measurable business results.

What You'll Do

Marketplace Strategy & Business Leadership

• Develop and execute the long-term marketplace strategy across Amazon, Uber Eats, Doordash, Instacart, Walmart, TikTok Shop, and other strategic marketplace channels.
• Own the marketplace P&L, including revenue, profitability, market share, and growth objectives.
• Identify new marketplace opportunities, emerging platforms, and strategic partnerships that drive incremental growth.
• Build annual operating plans, forecasts, and investment strategies aligned with company objectives.

Marketplace Growth & Optimization

• Drive sustainable revenue growth through assortment strategy, merchandising, pricing, advertising, promotional planning, and operational excellence.
• Partner with Performance Marketing to maximize retail media investments and improve marketplace visibility.
• Ensure marketplace strategies align with inventory availability, fulfillment capabilities, customer experience, and profitability goals.
• Establish KPIs and performance dashboards that provide visibility into marketplace health and growth opportunities.

Cross-Functional Leadership

• Serve as the executive leader connecting Marketplace with Marketing, Merchandising, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Technology, Customer Experience, and Brand teams.
• Influence senior leadership through data-driven recommendations, business cases, and strategic planning.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives that improve marketplace capabilities, operational efficiency, and scalability.
• Partner with Finance on forecasting, budgeting, and long-range planning.

Team Leadership & Organizational Development

• Build, lead, and develop a high-performing marketplace organization across strategy, operations, merchandising, retail media, and analytics.
• Establish clear goals, accountability, and career development for team members.
• Foster a culture of innovation, ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Evaluate organizational capabilities and identify opportunities to expand internal expertise.

Innovation & Expansion

• Evaluate and launch new marketplace channels that align with our brands and customer strategy.
• Stay ahead of marketplace trends, platform changes, advertising innovations, AI capabilities, and competitive dynamics.
• Identify opportunities to improve marketplace technology, automation, reporting, and operational processes.
• Develop scalable frameworks that support growth across multiple brands and marketplaces.

Required Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in ecommerce or digital commerce, including significant leadership experience within marketplaces.
• Deep expertise managing Amazon, with a demonstrated history of driving profitable growth.
• Experience leading marketplace strategy across large consumer brands or a multi-brand portfolio.
• Proven success building, leading, and developing high-performing teams.
• Experience influencing executive stakeholders and leading complex cross-functional initiatives.
• Strong financial acumen with experience managing P&Ls, forecasting, budgeting, and investment planning.
• Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and executive communication skills.

Preferred

• Experience managing Walmart, TikTok Shop, or other major ecommerce marketplaces.
• Experience with local commerce marketplaces such as Instacart, DoorDash, Uber Eats, or similar on-demand platforms.
• Experience leading marketplace businesses for food products.
• Experience leading through peak seasonal businesses.
• Familiarity with marketplace technology such as Pacvue, Helium 10, Feedonomics, or similar platforms.
• Experience building marketplace organizations from the ground up or transforming an existing function.
