Chipton-Ross is seeking a Material Handler I for a contract opportunity in College Park, GA.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE)

- Knowledge of aviation spare parts distribution a plus.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.
- Accomplishes the receipt and stocking of materials and verify that the quantity, part numbers or noted substitutions correspond to the packing slip and Purchase Orders.
- Pulls parts from stock to support Sales Orders using a pick list.
- Informs Back Office personnel of unknown cross-referenced, superseded or obsolete part numbers.
- Ensures that inventory transactions (i.e. stock-line issuing and adjustments) are completed upon every material movement.
- Inspects, packs, labels and weighs the materials for shipment attaching appropriate transport vendor and/or customs paperwork.
- Identifies and eliminates any outdated, unserviceable or degraded material in the stockroom.
- Understands Electrostatic Discharge handling and shipping procedures.
- Understands Shelf and Service Life product dates.
- Understands and complies with applicable domestic and international shipping restrictions.
- Enforces stockroom safety and security.
- Verifies product dimension and weight to select shipping method.
- Prepares freight quotations
- Prepares labels and bills of lading.
- Verifies and communicates shipping confirmation
- Tracks and monitors all calls from customers regarding shipping.
- Assists and supports sales, export and warehouse departments.
- Maintains and updates warehouse scorecards.
- Resolves issues arising in shipping or inventory handling.
- Reports any incidents or unsafe conditions immediately.
- Ensures all safety controls are in place.
- Ensures compliance to environmental management and systems
- Understands and abides by Hazardous Material Shipping regulations
- The Material Specialist - Shipping should NEVER process hazardous materials shipment orders - failure to abide by this will result in immediate termination.
- Willingness to cross train in other functional areas as directed
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- The Material Specialists must be able to operate a stand-up forklift operation.
- The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to stand/sit for the duration of their shift as well as regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
REQUIRED EDUCATION
- Accredited High School Diploma or GED.
WORK HOURS
- Full-Time- Monday to Friday 07:00am -03:30pm
- overtime may be requested on Saturdays
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
