Overview:
We are seeking experienced Manufacturing Engineers to support the development, production, integration, and testing of advanced aerospace and electromechanical hardware. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between engineering design and manufacturing execution by translating engineering intent into scalable production processes, work instructions, and quality-focused manufacturing solutions.
This role requires close collaboration with design, quality, supplier, and production teams to ensure hardware is manufactured efficiently, safely, and in accordance with technical requirements.
Key Responsibilities
  • Translate engineering drawings, specifications, and configurations into manufacturing processes and work instructions.
  • Define manufacturing methods and production workflows for fabrication, assembly, integration, testing, and refurbishment activities.
  • Support hardware builds from prototype through production and qualification.
  • Develop and improve manufacturing processes to enhance quality, reduce cost, and improve schedule performance.
  • Lead Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) reviews.
  • Conduct Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and implement risk mitigation strategies.
  • Review engineering drawings and provide manufacturing feedback to optimize producibility.
  • Create and maintain manufacturing documentation, work instructions, and process standards.
  • Develop material handling, packaging, and hardware protection methods throughout manufacturing and testing.
  • Manage manufacturing schedules, build sequences, quality requirements, and cost objectives.
  • Evaluate and disposition non-conforming hardware while supporting repair and rework activities.
  • Perform root cause investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Develop process controls and analyze manufacturing performance using statistical methods.
  • Support supplier and manufacturing partner activities to ensure hardware is delivered on time and meets quality standards.
  • Assist with procurement, installation, qualification, and integration of manufacturing equipment and tooling.
  • Maintain hardware configuration control and traceability throughout the product lifecycle.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Engineer II: Minimum 3+ years of relevant manufacturing or production engineering experience.
  • Engineer III: Minimum 5+ years of relevant manufacturing or production engineering experience.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes for complex electromechanical hardware.
  • Experience defining manufacturing process flows and selecting production equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis, precision assembly, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering specifications.
  • Experience developing manufacturing documentation and work instructions.
  • Proficiency with engineering and business tools such as CAD systems, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and issue-tracking platforms.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional production environment.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting aerospace, defense, or other high-performance hardware manufacturing environments.
  • Hands-on experience with electric motors, rotating machinery, avionics, wire harnesses, propulsion systems, thermal systems, structures, or environmental instrumentation.
  • Experience establishing new production lines, manufacturing cells, or assembly operations.
  • Familiarity with process validation, statistical process control (SPC), and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience supporting fabrication, machining, welding, assembly, integration, and testing operations.
  • Knowledge of configuration management and product lifecycle processes.

Prescreen Questions
  1. Describe a manufacturing project where you translated engineering designs into production-ready hardware. What was your role and what was the outcome?
  2. Tell us about a time you improved a manufacturing process that resulted in better quality, reduced cost, or improved schedule performance.
  3. Describe your experience supporting complex hardware manufacturing, including machining, welding, assembly, testing, or process development. What products or systems did you support?
