Mechanical Engineer - Technical Cooling Loop

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Role:

The Mechanical Engineer- TCL is responsible for the detailed mechanical design, modeling, and documentation of TCL components and assemblies under the direction of the Technical Lead. This role converts defined architectures, requirements, and standards into build ready designs and supports project delivery through iterations, documentation, and test readiness.

Responsibilities:

  • Translate defined system concepts, requirements, and constraints intoaccurate, manufacturable mechanical designs.
  • Develop detailed mechanical designs forTCLcomponents andsubassemblies(e.g., valve trains, headers, spools,expansion tanks,support brackets, drip trays, and mounting hardware) based on established architectures and requirements.
  • Responsible for executing and documenting mechanical and fluid calculations to support detailedTCLdesign.
  • Create andmaintain3D part and assembly models and 2D fabrication, assembly, and installation drawings using SolidWorks& Revit BIM, ensuring models and drawings are complete,accurate, and manufacturable.
  • Produce supporting mechanical documentation such as P&IDs,piping routingdrawings, and interface detailsin accordance withrequirementsand design intent.
  • Oversee the building and testing ofTCLprototypes, run experiments, collect data, and refine designs based on the results to achieve the desired thermal and mechanical performance.
  • Support install/commissioning readiness by defining mounting/bracketing, mechanical loading/moments/alignment requirements at connection ports, and site execution assumptions.
  • Support production and field issues, including on-site,throughdeep systemlevel troubleshooting and corrective action definition.
  • Partner with Supply Chain to supportcomponentselection and costdown for valve trains and major hardware packages; confirm control expectations where needed.

              Basic Qualifications:

              • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
              • PEng is a distinct advantage.
              • Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in mechanical design engineering.
              • Proficiencyin using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks& Revit) to create detailed mechanical designs & drawings.
              • Advanced knowledge of piping design approaches, component & materialselectionsuch as couplings, valves & sensors.
              • Ability to apply engineering principles to the design release process (e.g., GD&T and statistical tolerance analysis).
              • Understanding of fluid dynamics principles, especially as they relate to heat transfer and fluid flow in cooling systems.

                          PreferredQualifications:

                          • Experience with rapid prototyping manufacturing techniques and testing of thermal/mechanical components; familiarity with lab equipment for data collection.
                          • Experience withpipingand cable routing in a 3D CAD environment.
