Job description

Distribution Center Technology Engineer

About Tirehub

At TireHub we move more than tires – we move businesses forward, support communities, and help keep America rolling.  And behind it all?  Our people.  We call them Hubbers – because they’re at the center of everything we do.  From behind the wheel to the warehouse floor, from customer calls to corporate strategy, every Hubber plays a role in something bigger than themselves.  And we show up every day ready to say yes – to challenges, to each other, and to getting it done right.

Position Summary:

The Distribution Center Technology Engineer serves as TireHub’s Subject Matter Expert (SME) for technology supporting our Logistics Center (TLC) and Regional Distribution Center (RDC) operations. This role provides frontline and remote technical support to employees across both environments—covering hardware, software, Zebra scanners, mobile devices, printers, picker technology, delivery systems, and Warehouse management System (WMS) devices.

This position reports to Warehouse IT Infrastructure Leader.

The individual must exhibit the following attributes of the TireHub commitment:

  • Approachable - If a company could smile, we would. Instead, we rely on our people to show it. We care about each other and our customers because we know business only gets done right when people respect each other and value relationships.
  • Adventurous - What TireHub is set up to do is intentionally outrageous. So, we readily embrace challenges with the courage to introduce new ideas and the ambition to build something unique.
  • Relentless - We tackle our work with energy. We deliver on our commitments with enthusiasm. And we do not give up until we get to the end.
  • Speedy - Speed is the currency in the tire industry. When we commit to a job, we get the job done and we do it fast.

Role Specifics:

Technical Support & Operations

  • Serves as the primary technical resource for Hubbers at the TLC and RDC, resolving issues with desktops, printers, handheld devices, Zebra scanners, and business applications — including RoadNet, Körber (WMS), and Samsara.
  • Provides both onsite and remote support across TireHub's TLC and RDC locations.
  • Installs, configures, and maintains computers, software, and peripheral devices.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves complex hardware, software, and connectivity issues, coordinating with third-party vendors and contractors as needed.
  • Supports the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and endpoint support processes as required.

Systems & Project Support

  • Performs testing of version releases, upgrades, and patches prior to deployment.
  • Supports the rollout of new applications and technology projects across the distribution network.
  • Collaborates with TireHub's cybersecurity team to ensure all Distribution Center Technology (new and existing) meets security standards.

Tracking & Inventory

  • Ensures all issues are logged, tracked, and resolved using Jira tickets or work orders.
  • Maintains accurate inventory of technology assets including computers, monitors, printers, Zebra scanners, cables, telephones, and consumables.
  • Keep employees informed on issue status and resolution timelines.

Collaboration

  • Develops a thorough understanding of TireHub's distribution center operations and the technology that supports them.
  • Partners with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues and identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Manages workloads effectively while handling multiple tasks simultaneously in a high-velocity environment.

Professional Development & Compliance:

  • Ensures adherence to TireHub policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Participates and maintains ongoing training requirements through in-class, in-person, or computer-based learning modules as assigned.
  • Completes other tasks assigned by their Leader and/or another member of Senior Leadership, as requested.

Education and Experience:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), or related discipline preferred, equivalent experience considered.
  • 3+ years of experience in a technical support role, including hands-on experience implementing new technologies.
  • Experience in distribution center or warehouse operations environments is strongly preferred.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet strict deadlines.
  • Strong customer service skills, self-motivated to research and resolve issues proactively.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment working on multiple tasks simultaneously, while adhering to strict deadlines.
  • A valid Driver’s license with at least 2 years of driving experience required (3 years preferred; Does not include time on learner’s permits).

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience with WMS.
  • Experience with distribution center or warehouse operations environments.
