Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Operator to join our landscaping business. As an Operator, you will be responsible for operating heavy machinery and equipment to support various landscaping projects. Your expertise in equipment operation, attention to detail, and adherence to safety protocols will contribute to the successful completion of our landscaping operations.
Responsibilities:
Equipment Operation:
  • Operate and maintain heavy machinery and equipment used in landscaping projects.
  • Safely and efficiently operate equipment such as excavators, loaders, skid steers, and tractors.
  • Follow manufacturer instructions and safety guidelines when operating equipment.
  • Conduct pre- and post-operation equipment inspections to ensure proper functioning.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on equipment, including cleaning, greasing, and refueling.

Site Preparation and Excavation:
  • Prepare job sites for landscaping projects, including clearing debris, leveling ground, and excavating. Use heavy equipment to dig trenches, grade surfaces, and remove unwanted materials.
  • Assist in the installation of hardscape features, such as walkways, patios, and retaining walls.
  • Support the construction of drainage systems and irrigation infrastructure.

Material Handling and Transport:
  • Load and unload materials, equipment, and supplies at job sites.
  • Transport materials and equipment to and from job sites as required.
  • Ensure safe and secure transportation of materials to minimize damage or loss.
  • Follow proper loading and unloading procedures to maintain safety and efficiency

Safety and Compliance:
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines at all times, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Conduct routine safety checks on equipment and report any defects or malfunctions.
  • Report any safety hazards, incidents, or injuries to the supervisor immediately.

Equipment Maintenance:

  • Clean and lubricate equipment as necessary.
  • Maintain records of equipment usage and maintenance activities.

Team Collaboration:

Requirements
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience operating heavy machinery and equipment in a landscaping or construction setting.
  • Valid driver license with a clean driving record.
  • Certification or training in equipment operation is preferred.
  • Knowledge of safety guidelines and best practices for equipment operation.
  • Physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor tasks as required.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
