Harborview - Medical Specialties has an outstanding opportunity for a Medical Assistant - Certified (MA-C).
WORK SCHEDULE

• Full-time, 100% FTE (40 hours per week)
• Monday-Friday
• Day Shift

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
Neurology Clinic: Treats complex disorders of the central and peripheral nervous systems, located in the Ninth & Jefferson building.
Rehabilitation Medicine: Offers comprehensive care for adults recovering from spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, stroke, amputations and COVID-19.
Thoracic Surgery: Offers a comprehensive approach to the treatment of lung cancer and other thoracic malignancies, including tumors of the mediastinum, pleura, chest wall and esophagus.
Medical Operative Consult Clinic: The Medicine Operative Consult Clinic provides specialized medical evaluations for patients preparing for surgery. The clinic's medicine providers assess patients' overall health, review medical conditions, and provide recommendations to ensure patients are medically optimized and prepared to safely proceed with their planned surgical procedures.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Room patients, take vital signs, and reconcile records
• Perform injections
• Prepare and clean exam rooms
• Submit medication prior authorizations
• Recognize symptoms of common medical illnesses and accurately report to provider
• Act as a liaison between patient, patient's family and providers
• Assist provider with procedures and medical exams
• Perform point of care testing and report abnormal laboratory values
• Assist in transporting patients as required
