JOB SUMMARY
The Inventory Specialist is responsible for tracking, managing, and maintaining accurate inventory levels within the warehouse or production facility. This role ensures that all products and materials are accounted for, properly stored, and efficiently distributed to meet operational and customer demands. The specialist will conduct inventory audits, update records, and coordinate with various departments to optimize inventory flow.
Requirements
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintain accurate inventory records using inventory management systems.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and full inventory audits to ensure stock accuracy.
  • Monitor inventory levels and identify discrepancies, reporting any shortages or overages.
  • Track incoming and outgoing shipments to ensure proper documentation and stock updates.
  • Implement inventory control procedures to minimize waste, loss, or damage.
  • Update inventory databases, spreadsheets, and software with real-time stock levels.
  • Generate inventory reports for management, detailing stock levels, usage trends, and discrepancies.
  • Assist in forecasting inventory needs based on historical data and demand trends.
  • Work closely with procurement, warehouse, and production teams to ensure stock availability.
  • Communicate with suppliers and vendors to verify shipments and resolve order discrepancies.
  • Assist in organizing warehouse storage to optimize space and accessibility.
  • Ensure all inventory items are stored under proper conditions to maintain quality.
  • Follow company policies and industry regulations regarding inventory handling and tracking.
  • Participate in implementing best practices for inventory accuracy and efficiency.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Previous experience in inventory management, logistics, or warehouse operations preferred.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, Fishbowl, or Microsoft Excel).
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Basic knowledge of supply chain and warehouse operations.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Forklift certification (if required by the company) is a plus.

EDUCATION
  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field is a plus).
  • 1-3 years of experience in inventory management or warehouse operations.

WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Work is performed primarily in a warehouse, production, or storage facility setting. The environment may include refrigerated or climate-controlled areas for perishable goods.
  • Full-time, onsite role; may require occasional overtime depending on operational needs.
  • May involve exposure to dust, cleaning agents, packaging materials, and temperature variations.
  • Fast-paced environment requiring adherence to deadlines and inventory accuracy.
  • Frequent interaction with warehouse, production, procurement, and logistics teams.
  • Must follow all company safety protocols, including proper lifting techniques, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and adherence to OSHA and company safety standards.

PHYSICAL CONDITIONS
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, or move items weighing up to 50 pounds; heavier loads may require team lifting or mechanical assistance.
  • Ability to walk, stand, bend, reach, and stoop for extended periods during inventory counts, stocking, or warehouse organization.
  • Frequent handling of boxes, pallets, and inventory items; may require repetitive motion such as scanning, typing, or sorting.
  • Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks (forklift certification preferred if required).
  • Sufficient vision and hearing to accurately read labels, documentation, and inventory tracking systems, and communicate with team members.
  • Attention to detail, problem-solving, and ability to track multiple items and processes simultaneously
