JOB PURPOSE

The HVAC Maintenance Technicianโ€™s main responsibilities will include but are not limited to assisting the Maintenance Supervisor/Manager with fabrication/installation and preventative maintenance on electrical, mechanical, HVAC, power tools and other equipment throughout the facilities. This position will report directly to the Maintenance Manager.

Requirements:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Diagnosis Walk-in / Reach-in: coolers and freezers
  • Performing maintenance on refrigeration equipment
  • Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC systems
  • Cleaning, adjusting and repairing systems, and following up with warranty services
  • Fabrication of needed part or materials
  • Repair machinery and facilities
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment
  • Install and test new equipment
  • Responsible for keeping the production machinery running with minimum downtime
  • Responsible for maintaining repairs to the facilities
  • Complete paperwork in a timely and legible manner
  • Keeping daily logs and records of all maintenance functions
  • Follow safety polices/procedures including wearing necessary PPE
  • Follow attendance policy and other policies


PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

  • Required to stand, sit, walk for long periods of time
  • Frequent use of hands for simple firm, grasping and writing
  • Occasional bending, stopping, reaching, and climbing
  • Occasional Lifting, carrying 5 pounds to 50 pounds
  • Occasionally using cutting utensils (I.E Knives, peeler, etc.)
  • Exposure to product fumes such as onions, peppers etc.
  • Exposure to varying temperatures of 45 degrees or less
  • Exposure to chemicals such as chlorine, etc.
  • Works overtime as required
  • Other duties as required


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Possess verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in fresh food or production environment
  • 2+ years of maintenance experience
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Must have own transportation
  • Must have a working knowledge of English language
  • Basic Mathematical abilities
  • Ability to interact across departments
