Job Title: Handyman / Residential Electrician

Job Description

This full-time Handyman / Residential Electrician role supports high-end custom home renovations, additions, and ground-up residential construction projects throughout the Peninsula and South Bay, from Palo Alto to San Jose, CA. You will work in occupied luxury residences, performing a mix of electrical, carpentry, and general construction tasks while maintaining exceptional standards of craftsmanship, cleanliness, and customer service. The position is ideal for a versatile "jack of all trades" with broad construction knowledge and a strong residential electrical experience who can work independently and represent the company professionally in clients’ homes.

Responsibilities

  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain residential electrical systems in remodels, additions, and new construction projects.
  • Perform both rough and finish electrical work, including wiring, panel connections, and final trim in high-end homes.
  • Install lighting systems such as recessed lighting, switches, outlets, dimmers, ceiling fans, chandeliers, and specialty fixtures.
  • Read and interpret electrical plans, schematics, and specifications to execute work accurately and efficiently.
  • Ensure all electrical work complies with applicable codes, safety standards, and best practices for residential installations.
  • Diagnose electrical issues, identify root causes, and provide effective, safe solutions.
  • Perform light to moderate carpentry, including framing, trim, and finish work as needed on residential projects.
  • Handle general handyman tasks such as minor plumbing, drywall installation and repair, painting, and other small repairs.
  • Assist with construction punch lists and project closeouts, ensuring all items are completed to a high standard.
  • Coordinate daily activities and project details with project managers, subcontractors, and homeowners to keep work on schedule.
  • Maintain organized, clean, and safe job sites, with particular care and respect for occupied luxury residences.
  • Use hand and power tools safely and effectively across electrical and general construction tasks.
  • Work independently, manage your own tasks, and prioritize work with minimal supervision.
  • Interact respectfully and professionally with homeowners, designers, architects, and other trades on site.
  • Support occasional commercial projects with similar electrical and handyman responsibilities as required.

Essential Skills

  • At least 3 years of residential electrical experience.
  • Strong understanding of residential wiring methods, lighting systems, and electrical troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrated experience working on residential remodels and/or custom home projects.
  • Ability to safely use a variety of hand and power tools for electrical and construction work.
  • Valid California driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-service-oriented approach.
  • Ability to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment compliance and drug screening.
  • Proficiency with electrical wiring, outlet boxes, conduit, and related components.
  • Capability to read and work from electrical schematics and construction documents.

  • Journeyman Electrician experience or completion of an electrical apprenticeship.
  • Experience working in luxury residential construction environments.

Pay and Benefits
