AP MERCHANDISE SPECIALIST

REPORTS TO: AP MERCHANDISE MANAGER

STATUS: NON-EXEMPT

The Accounts Payable Merchandise Specialist is responsible for providing financial and administrative support in order to ensure effective, efficient and accurate financial and administrative operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Handle relationship with high volume vendors via emails, calls and meetings. Review statement and resolve issues.
  • Research and resolve discrepancies between invoices and receipts. Communicate with stores, distribution centers, and other departments as needed to resolve issues.
  • Performing three-way matching (invoice, purchase order and receiving report) to adhere to established guidelines.
  • Process credits and follow up with vendors on returns.
  • Handle weekly check runs.
  • Train AP Merchandise Clerks.
  • Handle import invoices.
  • Other tasks and projects as necessary.
  • Demonstrates high level of quality work, attendance and appearance.
  • Demonstrates high degree of professionalism in communication, attitude and teamwork with customers, peers and management.
  • Adhere to all local, federal and state laws in addition to Company policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Performs any other duties that may be assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication, customer service, time management and organizational skills.
  • Minimum 3 years of accounts payables experience
  • Bachelor's degree, preferred in Accounting/Business
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (especially Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and divert workload based on business needs
  • Self-motivated with good initiative
  • Experience meeting multiple deadlines
