Turn Your Creativity into Compassion

Use your crafting skills to bring warmth, comfort, and joy to hospice patients and their families. Our Crafting for Comfort Volunteers create beautiful handmade items that offer a personal touch of care to those we serve. Every stitch, card, and creation reminds our patients that they are loved and remembered.

What You Can Donate:

  • Crochet or knit shawls, scarves, hats, and fingerless gloves
  • Crochet, knit, or no sew blankets and lap-sized blankets
  • Fidget/sensory lap blankets for patients with memory care needs
  • Handmade, individualized cards for patients and families

Donation Guidelines:

  • All items must be new and unused
  • Must come from a smoke-free home and be in good condition
  • Crafted with care and appropriate for patients in a healthcare setting

Why It Matters:

Your handmade items provide warmth, comfort, and connection during an important time in our patientsโ€™ lives. This is a wonderful way to give back, even from home, and make a lasting difference through your creativity. Donated items are presented to our patients in Northwest Indiana by hospice trained volunteers and staff.

No hospice training or orientation is needed for this opportunity. There is no commitment or required number of items needed, just contact the Volunteer Coordinator to donate handcrafted items.
