Job Description
Madden Industrial Craftsmen is looking to fill an Industrial Material Handler Industrial position with a metal recycling company located in Portland, OR. The person in this position will assist around the yard maneuvering scrap metal, sorting metals and performing warehouse equipment operations.
Pay: $23.50/hr
Industrial Material Handler Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate a sit-down forklift to maneuver scrap metal throughout the facility
  • Warehouse employees can be assigned many different tasks, including but not limited to metal sortation, torch cutting, shearing, and using power and hand tools .
  • Operate and maintain a chopper machine
  • Sort various types of metals (steel, aluminum, copper, etc.)
Industrial Material Handler Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Must be able to stand and sit for long periods of time
  • Must be willing to work outside in all weather conditions
  • Ability to work in warehouse environment (dirt, loud noise, rain, sun)
  • Must have at least 3 years of Forklift experience
  • Must be mechanically inclined
  • Must be comfortable working off ladders
Compensation and Benefits:
  • $23.50/hour starting with an additional raise within six months
  • Union position (Kaiser medical)
  • Yearly pay raise
  • Pension
Schedule:
  • Monday - Friday
  • Day shift - 6:00am - 2:30pm or 7:00am - 3:30pm

This position requires a background check and drug screening (We DON'T test for THC).
