Job description

As a Material Handler I you will distribute materials from receiving and storage locations to and within the production area and from the production area to storage locations and the shipping area using hi-los, carts and material handling equipment.
Currently there is an opening for a Material Handler I in our Panels 581 division on 2nd shift (Monday - Friday 2:30PM to 10:30PM.)
Panels Material Handler I: Starting at $22.58 per hour on 2nd Shift!
Key Responsibilities:
  • Obtains material and establishes delivery sequences to departments according to job order priorities ensuring that materials are always staged for timely production.
  • Process, verify, route, store, order, deliver, track and maintain various supplies and materials in accordance with preset inventory levels.
  • Clean up scrap, cardboard, and skids (return to designated location), empty hoppers and trash containers into the appropriate bin for trash or recycling.
  • Maintain proper levels of materials and supplies in work center areas.
  • Communicate to supervisor's material shortages and disposition of rejected materials.
  • Must apply basic mathematics to count, add, subtract, inventory parts and supplies.
  • Verify correct quantity, color, material, etc. of materials and/or supplies to be staged.
  • Prioritize work orders for production/shipping.
  • Check material size using tape measure and package materials/finished goods.
  • Perform daily inspection of hi-lo to verify safety and function and change battery as necessary. Report problems to supervisor.
  • Complete necessary paperwork.
  • Assist other departments as necessary.
  • Provide the customer with the best value including Cost, Quality, and Delivery by being efficient, productive, and careful.
  • Participate in improving our product, processes, equipment and methods.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment at all times.
  • Continually look for ways to improve job efficiency and performance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Strong attention to detail
  • HI LO experience required.
  • Ability to work overtime.

Additional Requirements:
  • Must be eligible to work on programs subject to ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations).
