Job description

Position Purpose

Key Responsibilities

  1. Know and comply with all applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions (WI).  Review and recommend SOP(s) and Work Instructions (WI) as required.
  2. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.  Practice safe lifting and carrying in accordance to EH&S guidelines.  Follow lockout and tagout work practices.  Keep all equipment (machines, tools, work stations and storage units) organized and in good condition.

      Monitor and track the quality and position of the PVC through the feeder box and across the inspection area (Web).

  1. Monitor the fill and quality of product at the web area.
  2. Complete Batch Record documentation in accordance with the appropriate procedures.
  3. Perform ERP duties with an RF (radio frequency) device, or computer:
    • Enter items received into a process order.
    • Ability to receive 2nd request.
    • Ability to enter finished goods. 
    • Perform return to stock functions.
  4. Handle all packaged and un-packaged product in accordance with the appropriate procedures.
  5. Monitor the quality of packaging components during the production process (i.e. Shippers, Case Labels, Unit Cartons, Labels, etc.) and report all defects to the Lead Operator.
  6. Perform hand packaging of unit cartons when necessary in accordance with the appropriate procedures.
  7. Assist the Production Technician IV  in the set up and operation of all production related equipment.
  8. Maintain a cooperative attitude toward all other Safecor employees.
  9. Maintain a clean and orderly work area at all times.
  10. Be active member in site improvement projects, helping to streamline the process, maximize efficiencies, eliminate waste, and help implement improvements to achieve company goals.
  11. Support continuous improvement efforts to achieve company goals.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 0–2 years of manufacturing or packaging experience preferred
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to monitor multiple production functions
  • Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
  • Ability to follow detailed procedures and solve routine problems
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Reliable attendance is essential

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb steps for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds and maneuver materials safely
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and safety shoes may be required
