How do I get into hand modeling?

To become a hand model, you should have well-maintained, smooth, and proportionate hands. Building a portfolio with high-quality photos, especially close-ups of your hands in good lighting, and reaching out to modeling agencies that specialize in hand or commercial modeling can help you start in the industry.

What are some common challenges hand models face on the job?

Hand models often encounter challenges such as maintaining flawless skin and nail health, as even minor blemishes or imperfections can impact job opportunities. Consistency in hand care routines is crucial, and avoiding activities that could lead to cuts, bruises, or sun damage is part of the daily responsibility. Additionally, hand models must develop the ability to hold precise and sometimes uncomfortable poses for extended periods during shoots, requiring patience and stamina. Working closely with photographers, stylists, and art directors is also common, so strong communication and adaptability are essential for success.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a hand model?

To thrive as a Hand Model, you need well-groomed hands, symmetrical fingers, clear skin, and attention to personal care, often with experience in modeling or related fields. Familiarity with posing techniques, industry-standard photography, and sometimes agency representation are typical requirements. Patience, flexibility, and the ability to take direction well are important soft skills for this role. These skills ensure that hand models consistently meet client expectations for close-up product shots, commercials, and advertising campaigns.

What is a hand model?

Their hands are often featured in advertisements for jewelry, cosmetics, hand creams, or other items that require close-up shots of hands. Hand models must maintain their hands in excellent condition and may work with agencies or directly with clients. The job often involves holding products, performing specific gestures, or demonstrating how to use items. Attention to detail, patience, and flexibility are important traits for success in this field.

How much money do hand models make?

Hand models typically earn between $200 and $1,000 per day, depending on experience, the type of assignment, and the market. Top hand models with extensive portfolios or high-profile clients can command higher rates, especially for commercial, print, or advertising work.

Job description

The Data & Analytics group is looking for a Data Architect with, BI and AI expertise who will be providing consulting services to our customers.

The candidate

  • Is a senior Data architect that can develop detailed and comprehensive conceptual data model
  • Is at ease defining business processes map, SIPOC, and business capabilities models
  • Can put a governance program in place with appropriate structure, committees and supporting processes and tools. And can define policies and enforce them for the full life cycle of data
  • Is a senior BI architect that can transpose the conceptual data model in dimensional models an ideally can go further by taking the dimensional models and physicalizing them on traditional and modern D&A platform.
  • The BI architect is also expected to create the dimensional metadata layer to be consumed by visualization software and/or thru API
  • Master one or more Cloud environments and has been involved in AI projects

Requirements

  • Has defined either ‘home grown’ DG solution or use tools such as Collibra, Cloudera EDH, Watson Knowledge Catalog or others
  • Must have a great experience in creating conceptual data models from scratch and have them physically implemented. This clearly is not only the ability to identify and define the right concepts but also the ability to have the concepts physically implemented and used in applications and dashboards
  • Can translate and animate sessions with businesspeople and other SMEs to either complete a started model or do one from scratch
  • Has done multiple snowflake and STAR model from a conceptual data model and/or directly

  • Is pragmatic (consider constraints) but not to the expense of faulty designs/concepts
  • Can discern fundamental and key aspects worth ‘fighting for’ versus the less ‘important’ ones
  • Is great at whiteboarding with customers and prospects. Excellent understanding of SQL (DDL and DML)
  • Understands asynchronous architecture using ‘queue mechanisms’ such as Event Hub/Kakfa
  • Has implemented the Data aspect related to COBIT
  • Is bilingual (French and English) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Work with our customers’ stakeholders to identify opportunities for leveraging their data to produce insights allowing them to improve business processes or even innovate by changing the industry. The same assessment could also be used to identify constraints allowing to optimize (DO) business processes
  • Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques
  • Assess, audit, and provide recommendations to help our customers move toward a modern D&A platform allowing them to scale their AI
  • Ensure that all models (conceptual to physical) are complete, coherent, and consistent
  • Help the data engineers from getting the data to the transformation toward the DataLake
  • Help the BA to have business requirements align with the data architecture and vice-versa. Data architects create generic to specific data concepts and they need to tie back to the business requirements. On the other hand, many times business requirements describe the how versus the what which is a constraint in itself
  • Assist sales efforts as SME from the D&A practice by meeting prospects and customers presenting the D&A offerings from KPI Digitals and participating in SOW
  • Handle and complete the deliverables started by the VP of D&A practice for internal and external projects

  • A talent for operating effectively at various levels of abstraction
  • An aptness to distill complex, technical topics articulately to a non-technical audience
  • Adaptability, flexibility and an ability to navigate ambiguity
