Job Summary

Safety and Health provides employee safety and health support for business units such as Power Generation (PG) at our subsidiaries with the goal of reducing risk to employees via auditing, observations, review of leading and lagging indicator data review, employee exposure monitoring and communication support (e.g., Safety Alerts/Bulletins, monthly safety topics or adhoc safety topic development).

Job Responsibilities

   Conduct Health & Safety Initiatives
   Conduct industrial hygiene exposure monitoring for various physical, biological and chemical agents to determine employee exposures
   Audit health and safety performance through observation and inquiry
   Identify improvement opportunities and inform facility management of issues and solutions
   Act as a professional resource for all levels of employees while providing support services on health and safety
   Assist in the development and implementation of procedures, policies, and programs relating to health and safety
   Assist Health & Safety Consultants with program development and implementation
   Establish and maintain good working relationships with facility employees and department leaders
   Collect data to ensure compliance of the OSHA National Emphasis Program on heat stress

As a Safety Intern you will learn:
   Field-level industrial hygiene
   Safety hazard identification
   Safety communication development
   Safety protocol and procedures

Minimum Qualifications

   High School Diploma, HSED, or GED
   Current pursuit of a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health, Public Health, or a closely related degree with a graduation date after July 2027
   Valid driver's license

End Date: 11/15/2026 

Pay Range Minimum:  $21.30 

Pay Range Maximum:  $24.60

The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. The starting salary/pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, as applicable, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs.  At WEC Energy Group, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.
