Synergy Flavors, part of the Carbery Group, is a leading international supplier of ingredients to the global food and beverage industry.

Role Overview

Regulatory Specialist II – focuses on regulatory documentation and technical product inquiries to ensure flavors comply with industry standards.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Prepare standard to advanced regulatory documents, complete detailed customer questionnaires, and answer technical product inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Support the collection, organization, and review of raw material supplier documentation while ensuring data is accurately entered into applicable systems.
  • Research domestic and international regulatory topics and regulations to stay ahead of industry shifts and emerging market trends; determine potential impacts on internal processes.
  • Contribute to the evolution of internal regulatory programs, continuing to specialize in at least one regulatory topic with minimal assistance.
  • Aid in the development and training of others within the organization.
  • Assist with on-site audits and internal programs for facility certifications including Kosher, Halal, Organic, and Fairtrade.
  • Support the development of new products and new supplier qualifications while maintaining professional communication with internal teams and external customers.
  • Participate in Synergy’s organoleptic evaluation program.
  • Execute additional duties and departmental projects as required.
Qualifications and Skills Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline such as Chemistry, Biology, Food Science, or related field.
  • 3–5 years in a regulatory role, ideally in the flavor or food ingredient industry.
  • Familiarity with US Code of Federal Regulations (Titles 21 and 7) and non‑governmental agency rules such as Kosher and Halal.
  • Proficiency with digital systems, including Microsoft Windows Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, PowerBI) and product data systems (TraceGains, Microsoft Dynamics365, Intelligent Authoring).
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and ability to handle customer inquiries and collaborate across functional teams.
  • Strong attention to detail, time‑management, critical‑thinking, and multitasking abilities.
  • Positive, flexible mindset committed to continuous learning and professional development.
Compensation

Starting Salary: $65,000 to $87,500 per year.
