SummaryThe Systems Interoperability Analyst 1 is a technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle management of assigned third-party applications and their integration points with the Epic EHR. The role ensures system high-availability, data integrity, and security for departmental platforms, bridges the gap between IT infrastructure and operations by performing technical tasks including server maintenance coordination, security administration, interface monitoring, and complex system configuration to ensure a seamless and secure data ecosystem.
ResponsibilitiesPerforms foundational system configuration and translates departmental requirements into technical settings to ensure software functions meet operational needs.
Owns the security lifecycle (RBAC/User Provisioning) for assigned platforms. Coordinates with IT Infrastructure for server patching and OS upgrades, performing "smoke testing" to ensure zero downtime.
Monitors and troubleshoots data exchange (HL7, FHIR, or X12) between Epic and third-party systems.
Manages "error queues" to ensure information files accurately to the database. Executes unit and integrated testing for software updates and Epic upgrades.
Maintains "Source of Truth" documentation, including technical architecture maps, administrative guides, and disaster recovery procedures.
Acts as the primary technical resource for assigned specialty systems.
Troubleshoots and resolves system issues, escalating as needed.
Demonstrates behaviors of service excellence and CARE values (Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Expertise).
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Designs and configures complex logic in Data Innovations (DI) for autoverification, reflex testing, and critical value flagging.
Leads the technical configuration of the BBIS (e.g., WellSky, Haemonetics, SCC); manages electronic crossmatch logic, antibody registries, and ISBT 128 product code mapping.
Performs hardware-level build for lab instrument connections, including driver configurations, TCP/IP troubleshooting, and barcode peripheral support.
Validates system "hard stops" and failover procedures to prevent the release of incompatible blood products and ensure 24/7 lab operations.
ExperienceGenerally requires 3 to 5 years of related experience.
Education- High School diploma is required.
- Bachelor's degree in related field is preferred.
CredentialsActive license or certification is required as needed, based on the job or specialty.
