APPOINTMENT:
Registered Professional Transportation/Float Nurse
QUALIFICATIONS:
Requirement :
Current license issued by the State of New York to practice as a Registered Nurse.
BLS Certification - preferred
SPECIFIC DUTIES:

• • Provide skilled nursing care to medically complex students during transportation to and from school and on school-sponsored trips.
  • Monitor student health status, implement individualized healthcare and emergency care plans, and respond appropriately to medical emergencies.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and maintain accurate documentation of nursing care provided.
  • Collaborate with transportation staff, school nurses, families, and administrators to promote safe and effective student care.
  • Provide nursing support within school buildings between transportation assignments, including health office coverage and assistance with student health needs as assigned.
  • Demonstrate flexibility by assisting with student field trips, district nursing coverage, and other nursing assignments to support district operations.
  • Maintain current knowledge of school nursing practices and comply with all district policies, New York State regulations, and professional nursing standards.
