Job description

Job Title: Machinist IVJob Description

This position is responsible for the operation and maintenance of machining equipment to support development and manufacturing activities. You will ensure part or assembly conformance to engineering specifications using necessary inspection equipment and provide mechanical support to produce or repair products and equipment across multifunctional teams and departments.

Responsibilities
  • Machine parts to specifications using equipment such as power saws, mills, lathes, drills, and grinders.
  • Set up, adjust, and operate all typical machining tools, including CNC equipment.
  • Align and secure fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.
  • Select and monitor speed and feed rates during the machining process.
  • Layout, measure, and prepare stock for part manufacture.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to ensure proper fabrication of products.
  • Fabricate, repair, and assemble plastic/metal parts with the operation of mechanical equipment.
  • Use standard hand and power tools to assemble parts into subassemblies and products.
  • Clean and lubricate machines, tools, and equipment to maintain proper working operation.
  • Use standard inspection equipment to confirm parts conform to supplied drawings or requirements.
  • Train and adhere to company procedures, including maintaining and drafting machine shop operational procedures and practices.
  • Maintain inventory of shop supplies and materials.
  • Understand and follow safety precautions and ensure compliance with company safety policies.
Essential Skills
  • Must have experience with MasterCAM or Esprit.
  • Proficiency in blueprint reading and CNC programming.
  • Minimum of 5 years of machining experience required.
  • High school diploma required; an accredited trade school diploma may be substituted for years of experience.
  • Experience using basic hand tools and inspection equipment.
  • Familiarity with ISO Standards and Good Manufacturing Practices.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with soldering, PCB, test design, and programming.
  • Experience with various equipment like calipers, Haas machines, and lab equipment.
  • Operation of measurement equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and indicators.
  • Basic materials knowledge for typical plastics and metals.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and basic computer operation.
  • Experience with CAD/CAM software preferred.
  • Knowledge of GD&T preferred.

Work Environment

This position is in a production environment with bench work where you will be testing units and performing instrumentation duties. The pay range for this position is $40.87 - $44.23/hr.
