The
Housekeeping Associate is an essential member of the Gold's Gym team. They ensure that all areas of the facility-including gym floor, locker rooms, offices, and common spaces-are consistently clean, safe, and welcoming for members. The role includes performing a variety of cleaning duties, maintaining equipment and supplies, and supporting the overall member experience.
Facility Cleaning & Maintenance
- Clean outside glass and interior mirrors.
- Wipe down equipment, doors, and floors as needed.
- Empty trash receptacles daily.
- Sweep and mop floors, stairwells, and staircases.
- Clean carpets and hard-surface floors as needed.
- Clean fitness equipment thoroughly.
- Clean bathrooms, including tiles, tubs, walls, sinks, and mirrors.
- Dust furniture and fixtures daily.
- Clean management offices daily.
- Mop and sweep lobby floors.
Locker Room Responsibilities
- Sweep, mop, remove trash, and dust locker rooms.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms & locker rooms.
- Toilets, urinals, sinks, mirrors
- Showers and floors
- Refill soap, paper towels, toilet paper.
- Clean out lint and maintain general tidiness.
- Buff locker/lobby room floors as needed.
Equipment & Supply Maintenance
- Clean Maintain and organize cleaning tools such as mops, brooms, and vacuum cleaners.
- Ensure equipment is kept in good condition and stored properly.
- Clean vacuum cleaner bags or canisters daily.
- Stock carts with linens and supplies, keeping them organized according to training guidelines.
Other Duties
- Pick up debris on carpets and perform vacuuming as needed.
- Report maintenance or repair issues accurately and promptly.
- Collaborate professionally with gym staff and management.
- At least three (3) months experience in housekeeping or janitorial services and three (3) months customer service experience desired; experience in hospitality or health clubs is a plus
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
- Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
- Must have excellent organization, interpersonal and time management skills
- Must have proven ability to work both collaboratively and autonomously
- Must be able to collaborate and work as part of a team in a professional manner
